I'd like to see the spell-check feature a bit more configurable. I want to use this feature in .rc files and it would be nice to support different languages. Because you use the dictionary from OO.org a simple language switch for spell-checking would be really nice.

If you manually trigger the spell check command via the VA toolbar button or menu command then it should work for you in rc files. This works for me.

What do you mean by a simple language switch? What are you talking about? VA allows you to place several language dictionaries into the spell check folder, and it uses all of them.

Ok, thanks. That is nice. But sometimes it is usefull to select the language VAX should use for spellchecking. F.e. the word "is" is correct for englisch but not in german. A selection box for the language to use somewhere would be nice.

The additional languages that are shown as suggestions are irretating. And sometimes programmers use instinctive english words but they should not, so this words are not found by the spell checker.

Numbers are not recognized by the spell-check, maybe you can do something there.

But nevertheless it helps to find spelling errors.

How often do you want to change the language? Currently you can change the language by just adding or removing files from the spell checking folder. Clearly this is not "quick and easy", but it works if you only make the change every few weeks.

What do you mean by numbers? Words for numbers like "two" or actual strings of digits line "1234" ?

Well, adding and removing the files is acceptable, because i do not spell check every day.

Normal numbers in a resource in a string like "1", "2", "4711" ... are recognized as misspelled text.

Which file extensions are you seeing this problem in?
Can you post a couple of sample lines that show the problem?
Which dictionary files do you currently have installed?

I have just tried this here, and numbers are not being reported as spelling errors for me in code files or a .rc file.

I don't have this error if i just spell check the .rc file, but as far as i can remember i became speeling errors after i "changed" some words via the VAX dialog and sometimes the selection mark was positioned wrong, where f.e. the word "error" is shown as "erro" or " erro" as misstyped. So it seems this happens if VAX gets confused by "changed" spelling errors.

I'll have a eye on it and report more details if i can give you a complete scenario.

More details would definitely help. I use VA's spell checker quite a lot, and am often correcting spelling mistakes, but I have never noticed this effect.

I must be doing things differently.
