Since I installed VaX build 1721, the time needed for visual studio to start (just for the application to start, not open projects/solution) has increased dramatically. The Visual Studio window is completely white and not responding for approximately 1 minute!

Does this happen every time you start VS?
Do you have VS set to automatically open a solution at startup?


try running with VS logging enabled:
devenv /log

the log file is written out to %USERPROFILE%\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Visual Studio\\8.0\\ActivityLog.xml
