Could the "Open Corresponding File" icon be improved?
I really liked the old icon of v3 and v4 [.h/.cpp] - it was clear what action the button was meant for. The new icon looks almost identical to standard "Copy" icon.
I now use VS2008 very frequently and a lot of times I press VA button instead of Copy since they look very close. Similarly when I need to switch to h/cpp, I sometimes pause before clicking on the button, subconsciously making sure I am choosing correct button.
I realize that VA evolved to include C#, VB and other developers, but the attempt at generalizing the look failed in my opinion.
Since the general action is to switch to the other part of a pair, maybe you could have a symbol that reflects it. Maybe something like Moon crest and a sun, or 2 gender symbols with bidirectional arrow between them... |
