Quite often I want to check out a non-source file for editing. It could be a png/bmp or similar. This time OFIW does not help me, since I still have to find the file in the Solution Explorer, right-click it and choose "Check Out". Tedious as hell...
It would be nice if OFIW could produce this right-click menu directly in the OFIW-list. Actually, that would be awesome! |

This is an interesting idea, I have put in a feature request to see what our developers make of it:

Are you aware of the option:
IDE tools menu -> Options -> Projects and Solutions -> General -> Track Active Item in Solution Explorer
you can also add a toolbar button to turn this command on and off if you want. Not a complete solution, but it should make it easier to find the files you want in Solution Explorer. |

Yes, I'm aware of the "Track Active Item in Solution Explorer" setting. Don't like it at all! :P |

I am not really like "Track Active Item in Solution Explorer" either, but I do find it useful occasionally, so a toolbar button to quickly turn it on and off can help. |

There is a 2 line macro (quick search should find it) which will locate the current file in the solution explorer for you. It basically turns that feature on and back off immediately, so it locates the file as soon as its on, but then its off when you are done.
