We have included for a long time toggles in our toolbar for completions, repair of case, underlining and syntax coloring.
Do people use the toggles? |

No. I only use the VA on/off one (is that still there?) to tell if a problem is caused by VA. I never turn bits of it on and off.
That's my GBP0.02.

Nope - didn't even know they were there.
Of course, I hate taking my hands off the keyboard, so I might not be the right one to ask about toolbars... but I imagine many developers are the same way, though...

I am not switching features on and off on a regular basis...
I do it once. I would rather prefer a "Open Visual Assist X Options"-Button (like VA .NET 7.1 had) than any of the current present enable/disable buttons!

Never use them. Once I've set my options I dont change them regularily (except for testing if a new build of VA fixes one of the old problems). |

No. They seem pretty useless to me, so I removed them from my toolbar. I don't even think they're needed in the menu -- in the options property sheet would be fine. |

Toggles on toolbars are good for things that you turn on and off frequently. For instance, I detest .cpp/.h files that are written with tabs instead of spaces so I have the Edit->Toggle Visual Space on my Text Edit toolbar. Toolbar buttons are also good for things that you don't want to fish through menus for. For instance, I put the Window->Close All Windows, Cancel Build, Run without Debugging and Debug on toolbars.... Nothing like easy access. The toolbar button I use most is Toggle between .cpp/.h, VA Options Dialog & disable VA. |

I thought we were just talking about the buttons that turn on and off subsets of the VA functionality? I never use those. The only VA toolbar buttons I use are: Toggle between .cpp and .h (frequently); Back and Forward (not in VA X; sometimes); VA reparse (occasionally); VA options (rarely); VA on/off (rarely). |

Ya, that's what we are talking about - toggles. I just threw in a couple extra thoughts. Sorry if I confused the issue. |

The only one I use is the one to toggle VA on and off... mostly to determine if VA is causing the strangeness I experience on and off. |

If it starts to make sense, you're in a cult. |
