highlighting matching brackets works just fine for me with 1246 in .NET 2003 using both C++ and C#
what exactly are you seeing? or not seeing, as the case may be. |

Same here, works as advertised.

Ditto! Works fine on my Machine. WOMM
WOMM = Works On My Machine! Someone here coined that and I liked it! |

On a related topic, I just noticed that the IDE's brace matching is not disabled by VAX (is there even a way to for VAX to do that? Doubtful), so it helps if you set the IDE's brace-matching color to be the same as VAXs brace-matching color.
All right-thinking people use bright yellow for this color, BTW. ;)

*looks to see if i am a right thinking person*
on a pale blue background (which is global), yellow brackets are nearly invisible. disapearing matching brackets... interesting, definetly interesting i am just not sure it is something i want to use while programming |

Even if it's possible, VA have a (very sensible) policy of not recolouring anything that the IDE has coloured. |

Well, by definition, you're right-thinking if you agree with me!
Pale blue background? But all right-thinking people use a black background!

Objection, your honor! right-thinking people have white background with LIME-colored matching brackets... Or what do you think made Microsoft think that the default color-scheme is a good one? They must be believing this, cause it is used for ages... |

I concur with Wannabee, the white is definitely easier to see. |

based on recent experiences at work, i suspect a pale background is good for CRT monitors, and a dark background is good for flat screens. the testing department have recently been issued with flat screens. they have the bonus feature that 100% brightness is nearly identical to 0% brightness. not the monitor to use with a white background in VS all day good for working on your suntan though
of course, the proper answer is that Larry is nearly right, he just meant to say that you are right thinking if you agree with feline |

Hey, I just made this fail!
Enter a line, with lots of matching parens, that is longer than the screen is wide. Now type it in 9000 times (sorry, I couldn't resist)!
Anyway, if you go to the end of this long line, the screen will scroll to the left, right? At this point, any visible parens don't highlight.

...which is old and discussed somewhere here in the forum. No need to go to the end of line, simply scroll 1 Pixel to the right and leave the mousecursor over the "scrollbar arrow"
No coloring of brackets until you move mouse away from scrollbar. |

Hello all,
Stephen, Thanks for looking it up. I've checked it, and I can still reproduced it. (Added a bug-note in that thread.)
WannabeeDeveloper, I can also reproduce this when I scroll somewhat more to the right and then not having the cursor on the scroll-bar. (See de bug-note in the other thread.)
I hope this bug can be solved in the (near) future. Thanks.
With kind regards, Patrick Luja |
