Hello all,

I wanted to offer an idea to VA X.
I might come in handy (for me at least) to have an autosave-option, that saves all files, with a frequency of 5 or 10 minutes. (The timer should be resetted when Shift-Ctrl-S is pressed or all files are save due to a build.)

It save a LOT of trouble when you're typing a lot (i.e. creating a large new piece of code) and you don't build.

I know VA can reconstruct some unsaved files, but it seems not to work properly every time. And I prefer to be on the safe side, always.

Thank you.

With kind regards,

Hi Patrick,

VAX should reconstruct ALL files and should work properly since Build 1272!
Can you safely state that this feature doesn't work for you as flawlessly as it should?

It has saved my life several times since Build 1272 and was always doing what I expected it to do...

Hello WannebeeDeveloper,

I must say I didn't (have to) use it quite a while. But I remember that when I had to use this feature, and it asked to reconstruct the file, it always reconstructed the header file when it schould reconstruct my cpp file and vice versa. So I had to close the file, while not saving it (else it would overwrite the wrong file).

But I'm glad if it works reliable now. Then you might forget this idea.
You state that VA X should reconstruct ALL files, does this include resource-files (.rc and resource.h) and external files coupled in the resources?

Thanks for pointing it out.

With kind regards,
Patrick Luja

Not sure, but I can (will) ask the dev's.
It should recover every .c/.cpp/.h File that you changed without saving prior to the crash.
I'll inquire about the resource-files in general...
