Hi,

due to the fact that VSIP requires reset of every custom menu's/toolbars etc, you're custom settings are gone.

See http://forum.wholetomato.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1142

A member of the Microsoft Visual Studio Devteam actually blames Microsoft for this behaviour (see here).

Strange that everything vanished (usually only the customized stuff).
Which Version of VAX did you install?

Try to run devenv with the cmdline-switch /setup
i. e.
devenv.exe /setup

Hopefully this gives you the menubar back...

hi!

thx for your help.

devenv.exe /setup was my first try. it reset my toolbars, but it gives me not the menubar back. and i cannot check them!

i installed VA_X_Setup1301.exe.

i don't want to re-install vs.net!

...which is absolutely understandable!

I had such behaviour in MS Excel once... but I cannot remember how I solved it (not that I believe that VS .NET and Excel have something in common when it comes to menu-config)...

Hi,

I think you can get back to the defaults of VS.Net 2003 (this is the version you use, isn't it?) by deleting these two directories (typically on the same partition as your windows installation):

<Documents And Settings path>\\<your logon name>\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\VisualStudio\\7.1

<Documents And Settings path>\\<your logon name>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\VisualStudio\\7.1

I assume that VS.Net 2002 would use sub directories named 7.0.

HTH,
SvenC
