I am sure that in previous versions of VA that the string relating to the ID under the cursor was displayed in the bar at the top of the window. Now I just see the #define stuff. Was this removed deliberately or was I just imagining it because it would be useful?
Using Visual Studio .NET 2003,
VA_X.dll file version 10.1.1301.0 VAOpsWin.dll version 1.2.0.4 DevEnv.exe version 7.10.3077.0 msenv.dll version 7.10.3077.0 Font: Courier New 13(Pixels) Comctl32.dll version 5.82.2900.2180 WindowsNT 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 Single processor Platform: Win32
can either of you tell me what combination of IDE and version of VA used to do this? i went looking once before, but i was never able to make VA do this. if i can say "it did this in version x, but not now" that may help get this fixed.
I have a range of version from 10.0.1213.0 to 1246 where it works. The next version I have where it is broken is 1293. So it broke somewhere between 10.0.1246 and 10.1.1293.0. I am using Visual Studio .NET 2003 on XP. I hope that helps as I would really like to see this feature back.
this time i was able to get it working on 1246, knowing it does work in a given version helped. something about my test machines setup was upsetting the tooltips *sigh*
