Just a short reminder of my personal favorites still in (or still not in) build 1235:
- newly added files not in FIW
- duplicate symbols in HCB when workspace contains multiple projects with duplicated files
- "Repair Case" not working properly
- C# namespaces and coloring
- Confusing and mixing C++ classes (see my CEvent and MFC's CEvent)
- variuos occasions of syntax coloring filenames and paths
- the horrible mishappen of a "Goto menu"
- better support for C++ templates
- Various minor UI bugs in the Options dialog
- occasional disappearance of syntax coloring in the definition bar and HCB
- scrollbar bug in completion list
- tooltips appearing for symbols hidden under other windows
- misrepresentation of destructors and various operators in the HCB
- various coloring issues in .rc and .idl files
Some of these issues are open since build 1202 |

I've been just looking through my posts since build 1202 to compile this list, but I can fish the numbers out. |

I second the comment about C++ templates. They completely confuse VAX. VA.NET too in at least some cases. I'm not sure why Andreas put it in small type. Maybe because he's given up on them.
If you want numbers, 656 is one that I reported. I've seen others similar to that recently, when designing my own template class. 1761 may be another. I think Andreas had some too.

Dont worry I dont give up on templates, the small print was just a joke, since I'm always on templates...
Ok, now lets see what open topic ID I find: 882, 885, 901, 903, 928, 934, 929, 936, 946, 962 (2 & 3), 970, 995, 992, 1014, 1026, 1047, 1090, 1095, 1108, 1114, 1119, 1135, 1153, 1158, 1159, 1182, 1192, 1463, 1464, 1500, ...
There are still 8 pages of posts left to go through, I'll continue when I have a bit more time. I have checked all the above IDs, the bugs are still in the latest build. Some of them are really, really minor stuff, but many are related to coloring, data types and templates.
PS: sorry for not linking them and not categorizing them, but they are too many. |

I forgot to mention 1665 in my list of template parsing bugs. This is a particularly ugly one. |

Hello all,
Also I searched back my reports, and here are a few that I want to bring to your attention:- Automatic completion of function declaration (2355; reported several times by various authors)
- Horizontal scrollbar brakes Highlight matching ( ) (1953)
- Column indicator jumps when scrolling horizontally (1950)
- Wrongly coloured code (1486)
I must say I was happily surprised to see that there are a few reports of mine that were solved, without me knowing they were resolved. Keep up the good work, Whole Tomato team...
There are also a few newer reports I want to mention (to be complete): - It take a long time before variables are coloured (2350)
- VA X 1237: Another colouring/displaying problem (2363)
- VA X Crashes... (2342)
I hope the fine team of Whole Tomato will take another look at these (especially the first list). Thanks in advance. VA X is great!
With kind regards, Patrick Luja |

I'd like to eventually get an answer for 1931 - What color are strings in tooltips, myself...
Actually, I would love it if all the issues for those of us that use a black background could be rounded up and addressed ... we're really "second-class citizens" when it comes to syntax coloring...
